Our Mission in Educational Institutions
Being in education is a significant milestone where you’re forging your future. We want to ensure relatable peer support is available and accessible to the mass demographic. The #Me course is a way to promote self-development, form new perspectives, gain key transferable skills, widen your support network, improve your mental health, wellbeing and resilience.
#Me connects like-minded students and provides resources to improve self-awareness, promote a positive mindset and encourage sustainable, healthy habits. Students who sign up to our 12-week course will partake in weekly #Me Meetings that are facilitated by 2 fellow students who receive full training. Regular interaction and practical resources equip them to achieve their goals, aspirations and maximise their experience, both academically & socially.
Being part of #Me is a journey which focuses on each student’s individual circumstances and equips you in your own way, at your own pace.
“I got to hear different perspectives, voices, and engage with individuals from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.”
“I would recommend the #Me course because it gave me the opportunity to join at a very sensitive time when I needed a regular social setting to interact without much pressure or expectation, but just to come and think or reflect on things. Moreover, I wanted to learn from other people's experiences. The course provides a lot of useful tips and resources, indicating that a considerable effort has gone into its development.
#Me gave me the opportunity to step out of my shell and have conversations with people I'm not sure I would have had the pleasure to meet otherwise. I got to hear different perspectives, voices, and engage with individuals from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.”

“#Me has been a game changer for us at Loughborough.”
“#Me has been running at Loughborough University since 2018/19. Since that time we have had some outstanding feedback from students and staff on the impact of the course. Students tell us it has helped them improve their ability to maintain positive mental health, develop connections with peers, be more effective in their studies and, in some case, been the difference between them staying at university or quitting.
One of the key features is the way in which #Me complements and works alongside our existing support services. Working closely with our wellbeing teams students can be referred in either direction so that they can get the most appropriate support. The peer-to-peer basis of #Me also helps remove some students’ inhibitions around asking for support and the #Me team has always been willing to work with us to make changes, enhancements and improvements to the offering. #Me has been a game changer for us at Loughborough.”
